Damon brings extensive expertise across all donor types—individuals, corporations, foundations, and governments—and is deeply knowledgeable about philanthropic trends and best practices. His diverse career and graduate education have shaped his expertise in sectors including arts and culture, education, health care, human rights, media, journalism, international diplomacy, peace, and security.
Damon has led multiyear strategic planning, grants management, monitoring and evaluation, needs assessments, and research. He has successfully structured and implemented large-scale capacity-building and grantmaking programs, including public-private partnerships.
Damon worked for eight years at Outright International, a leading international LGBTIQ human rights advocacy organization, where he increased foundation and government revenue by 350%. As of 2024 he secured over $45 million in multiyear, 7- to 8-figure grants during his time at the organization.
Damon has led multiyear strategic planning, grants management, monitoring and evaluation, needs assessments, and research. He has successfully structured and implemented large-scale capacity-building and grantmaking programs, including public-private partnerships.
Damon has a Master of International Affairs degree from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He is also a former U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer.
